08/07/2020 by admin
Trivia:

Viv Richards was the darling of West Indies cricket. He is still one of the most loved cricketers in Caribbean islands and admired by the entire cricketing world. During his playing days, he used to wear a tricolor wristband to support Rastafari movement. The Rastafari movement originated from Jamaica in the 1930s and later adopted by many groups worldwide. It was a religious and political movement. Reggae musician Bob Marley was also a supporter of the Rastafari movement.

The Wristband:

Viv mentioned in the ‘Fire in Babylon’ documentary that each color in the wristband had an inner meaning. The Green represented the land of Africa, Gold for the wealth that was stripped away and the Red for the blood that was shed.
