Matthew Hayden – The Surfing King

11/07/2020 by admin
Trivia:

During a Test match at Durban, Haydos scored a century and Australia was in a commanding position. However, a massive thunderstorm hit around 4 PM. Everyone was busy packing while Haydos rushed to the hotel. He had a full quiver of boards and went straight for surfing for two and a half hours. While on the water, he observed other surfers were observing him. After an hour or so, one of them approached Haydos and asked, “are you a cricketer?” Haydos replied, “yes mate, I play a bit”. He said, “you are Matt Hayden, aren’t you?” Haydos nodded. The guy was really surprised and said, “Didn’t you score a Test match hundred today”. Hayden smiled and replied, “Just living the dream, brother.” Matthew Hayden loves surfing.
