12/21/2020 by admin
Trivia:

Kris Srikkanth was known for his aggressive stroke plays and flamboyant batting style. He played for India from 1981 to 1992. Once Kapil said on ‘Cricket Diaries’ that Srikkanth can’t walk straight. His teammates used to call him ‘Dadpadango’.

The Bet:

In the Adelaide Oval dressing room, the lobby and players resting area are not on the same level. There are three to four steps between the lobby and the resting area. Srikkanth overlooked the stairs and fell multiple times during a Test match. All the players observed it, but no one reacted as they knew it’s pretty normal for Srikkanth. However, once everyone burst into laughter when he fell on the stairs again. Srikkanth was perplexed as he had no clue why everyone was laughing at him suddenly. Later he found that Kapil placed a bet and agreed to take everyone to dinner if Srikkanth escaped the fall on the staircase. Srikkanth helped Kapil to win the bet.
