Jason Gillespie – The King Watchman
Trivia:
Jason Gillespie scored 201* in his last Test innings against Bangladesh as a night-watchman. He was the only Test cricketer who scored a double century as a night-watchman. The match was played at Chittagong, Bangladesh on Apr 16-20, 2006. Australia won by an innings and 80 runs. Kudos to Australian think tank to send him as a night-watchman and gave the opportunity to bat for a longer duration during his last Test match. He spent 574 minutes on the crease and played 425 balls. Gillespie smashed 26 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries to reach the double tons. Surprisingly he reached the milestone on his 31st birthday and packed his boots. What a way to say goodbye to international cricket.
