Daryll Cullinan – Shot to frying pan from the middle

07/20/2020 by admin
Trivia:

Daryll Cullinan was the South African middle order batsman. He played 70 Test and 138 ODI matches between 1993 and 2001. He had the gift of exquisite timing of cricket ball and scored heavily all over. However, he couldn’t manage to score big in Australia. He was the youngest South African to score a first-class century at 16.

Ball in Pan:

Cullinan hit a six to Roger Telemachus during a domestic game at Paarl in February 1992. The ball ended up in the kitchen and straight into a pan of fried calamari. It took around 10 minutes for umpires to remove the grease and cooled it down before the match resumed. However, umpires had to replace the ball as bowlers were unable to grip it.
