Chris Martin – Bowled out
Trivia:
Chris Martin is the fifth-highest Test wicket-taker (Behind Hadlee, Vettori, Southee, Boult) in New Zealand’s history. He was not an express bowler but known for his nagging line and lengths. However, more often than not his batting skills came under scrutiny. He scored second highest number of ducks (36) in Test cricket, just behind Courtney Walsh (43). He holds the record of most pairs (7) in Test cricket. Martin blamed his poor batting skills on delayed driving learning. He used to travel a long distance by bicycle and most of the days didn’t get a chance to bat because he arrived late at practice. He didn’t focus much on batting during his early days and lost interest gradually. Martin never picked the line and lengths of the ball and with a little footwork, it’s almost impossible to tackle the delivery pitched in stumps and often get bowled. Martin took more Test wickets (233) in comparison to his total Test runs (123).
