Andrew Flintoff’s friendship with Steve Harmison

12/11/2020 by admin
Trivia:

Andrew Freddie Flintoff used to hang around a lot with Steve Harmison. They were the best buddies and played under Michael Vaughan’s captaincy for many years. Vaughany had outstanding people management skills. He knew the duo wanted to spend time together and made sure that they always got an adjacent room during the tours. The doors never got closed in their rooms.

2nd Test, Lord’s – 2003: South Africa was in a commanding position to win the Test match. Few wickets were down overnight and Andrew Flintoff was the next man to bat on the next day. After the day’s play, Flintoff and Harmison decided to hit the bar. They were partying hard, at 1:00 in the morning, they realized that it’s too late and time to go to bed. The next day, Andrew Flintoff played one of the best Test innings of his career. He scored 142 runs in 146 balls and hit 18 boundaries and 5 sixes. Well, he was not sure that it was the match pressure or the alcohol which brought out the best in him.
