Don’t touch the ball:

This is the story of early days of Sachin’s career. He blocked a delivery and the ball landed near his feet. Out of instinct Sachin bent down to pick the ball. AB shouted from gully “Don’t touch the ball”. Sachin quickly realized this was international cricket and couldn’t take it for granted.

You’ll be next plane home:

Craig McDermott once ignored AB’s instructions during Ashes in 1993. AB told McDermott ” You do that again mate, and you’ll be on the next plane home”.

This is out here, a picnic or what?

Robin Smith felt thirsty during the Trent Bridge Test in 1989 and he asked AB whether he could have a glass of water. AB replied “No, you can’t have any water! What do you think this is out here, a picnic or what? You’ll wait for a drink like the rest of us”.
