Sourav Spent the Spooky Night at Lumley Castle
Trivia:
Indian National team stayed at Lumley Castle, Durham during a match at Chestler-le-Street in 2002. It was a beautiful hotel that overlooked the ground. A suite was given to Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. Sourav finished his training and came back to his suit. It was a lovely suit and he was very pleased. After dinner, he quickly pulled the curtains and switched off the lights. He needed a sound sleep before the match.

He was not sure how long he slept and got up by the sound of tap water from the bathroom. He thought it was a mistake and went to check it. All the taps were already off. It must be a dream or sound was coming from the adjacent room. Sourav examined the taps and made sure they were turned off. He went to bed quickly.
Sourav got up again within half an hour due to the sound of running water. He had no clue what was going on as all the taps were off. He had decided to turn on the lights and sleep again. However, he couldn’t sleep and turned off the lights. Sourav was thinking it must be a bad dream and heard the running water from the bathroom for the third time.
He was terrified and ran out of his suit. Sourav went to Robin Singh’s room. Thankfully he spent the rest of the night without any trouble at Robin’s room.
Sourav never stayed at Lumley Castle again. Several Australian players also witnessed paranormal activities at Lumley Castle in 2005.
